So I moved this summmer. Yay for me! I am back in sunny Hawaii where I call home. Living here is hard sometimes. I admit I am struggling to survive for the moment. BUT...damn I am actually happy and learning that not having a lot can be good sometimes. It opens up other creative avenues. Like everyone else, I want a lot from my life . For my hobbies I want a lot too. I am still fortunate to have all my dolls. I doubt I will ever sell any. I actually have plans to continue building my cast and writing their stories. What I want to do now that I started my life over so to speak...is get a few more things going with my chosen art forms. So here are my goals and the reasons for them.
~ Gift myself with a DSLR camera - I am not the greatest photographer and my artistic eye is sort of limited, but.....I used to take some cool shots with an slr camera long time ago. I love my current digital but I miss the manual control.
~Take better pics of my dolls for photostories - look up lightboxes and different tutorials for background scenes. I tend to make a small corner or more,in the house, the location(s) of offices bedrooms etc. Result is dolls all over the house.
~Learn to make more of the props I want for my dolls - I love the idea of polymer clay foods. Most I have found however, are much too small to be considered scale for my larger dolls ( my Hounds and such sizes.) I found some great tutorials here in Deviant and that sparked a serious wish to attempt the art. I will post my attempts here when I am proudest of the result. Not a perfectionist but darn close.
~ Post a tutorial or more on making certain props/furniture/clothes - A lot of my props/clothing collected over the years are in storage until I can afford to ship them from the mainland. In the meantime I need some and I found that using everyday materials is a great way to recycle and inexpensively create at the same time. I think it would be good for some of the younger bjd owners with limited resources.
~Start showing off my sewing - I don't always buy clothes for my dolls. It has to be something that I doubt my skills in making for me to buy it or so absolutely wonderful and right for the doll I am thinking of. Again I would like to show ways to create something wonderful inexpensively and still quality.
Well those are a few of my goals
